The International Affairs Program at Lafayette College invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2021. We are a nationally-ranked interdisciplinary
program in global studies and we seek applicants with expertise in global and transnational
patterns of power, culture, and identity. Priority will be given to applicants with a demonstrated
research agenda that reflects the transnational flows of people (e.g. diaspora, migration, refugees,
labor) or ideas (e.g. colonialism, post-colonialism, indigeneity, race) and how these patterns
intersect with systemic structures of inequality and exclusion. We seek candidates who show
exceptional promise as scholars and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and
service. Scholars of color and from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant social science (such as Sociology, Anthropology,
Geography, Urban Studies, Area Studies, Ethnic Studies, Gender Studies). Preferred areas of
specialization are migration, development, post-colonialism and/or critical race theory.
Experience teaching multi-disciplinary methods to undergraduates is also essential, as is a deep
commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship. In addition to teaching the core
courses in the major, faculty members will develop and offer courses in their areas of expertise.
The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, and 3/2 thereafter. More information about International
