The Department of History at Saint Anselm College, a Roman Catholic undergraduate liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition in Manchester, NH invites applications for a full-time, three-year faculty position to begin in Fall 2021. The department seeks a historian of any area of medieval Europe (except Iberia) with the ability to teach courses on the history of classical antiquity. Candidates who also demonstrate research and teaching interests in the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and/or Islam are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should be committed to actively involving undergraduates in research and will also teach Conversatio, a multidisciplinary first-year course providing every Saint Anselm student a shared learning experience in the liberal arts.

A Ph.D. in History is required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level as well as scholarly research.

Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
