Specific job responsibilities include teaching within the curriculum, participating in effective marketing and recruitment of undergraduate students to the program, advising and mentoring students, advising pre-law students for application to law school, supervising student research projects, providing service to the program, and making meaningful contributions to college-wide councils/committees.
We are looking for a Legal Studies generalist with the ability to cover a range of courses within the Legal Studies program, including Constitutional Law (2 courses: Institutions and Civil Rights & Liberties), Legal Writing, Logic and Legal Reasoning/LSAT Prep. Additional areas of interest are open, but coverage of some of the following courses is a plus: American Government, Intro to Law, Health Policy and Law, Senior Seminar. Candidates who can also contribute additional courses to the political science program and/or criminal justice program will be given additional preference.
Successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to collaboration. The legal studies program is interdisciplinary and faculty in this position will work closely with political science, criminal justice and other disciplines to develop initiatives and create opportunities for students.
