The Department of Government, Public Service, and International Studies at the University of Central Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of American Government & Politics beginning in August 2026. Teaching responsibilities include introductory sections of U.S. government & politics and upper-division courses in some of the areas of political behavior and institutions, such as the presidency, voting behavior, elections, political parties, and interest groups. The successful candidate will possess excellent teaching skills and demonstrate a record of (or the potential for) scholarly research, presentations, and publications. The required educational background for this position is a Ph.D. in Political Science with a primary teaching and research emphasis in the field of American Government & Politics.
