Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment. The position involves teaching seven courses each academic year: three courses per semester, with an additional course during the three-week Interim term in January.
While the department welcomes applications across the full range of the International Relations field, it especially encourages scholars to apply who are prepared to offer courses on international law and security, conflict studies, and Western/non-Western political theory (to be offered to support our political philosophy minor). The successful candidate will also offer sections of introductory political science courses that contribute to the general education curriculum. Additionally, they will maintain an active research agenda and contribute to university service, consistent with the expectations for tenure.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. completed by August 1, 2026 is required, with evidence of teaching excellence expected.
Candidates must value interacting with students, faculty, and leadership from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and must also have a deep appreciation and respect for academic principles and culture.
